Questions

September 28, 2007

My question is where did the boy go or why is he not working with the old man anymore.  The old man is always asking for him. Also what is ge going to do with the fish? Will he just let him go? Or will he keep the fish and sell it for money. Or will the fish put up a fight and break the line. I want to finnish the book to see what happens to the fish.

signs

The sign I saw was when the fish came out out of the water. He was deep for over 24 hours and he came up. Im not sure why he did this. Maybe to show the old man how big he wes or what he might be up against. He might make him lose a little confidence. Another sign might be the sun coming up. I think that means it might be a new day and new challenges. Every sign in the book is a new challenge because he dosent have the boy. He cut his hand. The fish is playing with him. And he is not making much progress on the fish at all.

ole man and the sea

” I wish I had the boy with me. To help me and to see this” pg.48 This part stood out because he was very helpful and the old man was tired and needed help. He wanted him to see that I think because he wanted him to see how to do things. To get experiance and know what to do if he was out alone. He was use to the boy being there and helping him. He didnt have him now so he had to do everything himself and it wasent so easy because he was old. And with the fish tired too.

old man and the sea

“Everything about him is old exept his eyes and they were the same color as the sea and were cheerful and undefeated”. This one stood out to me. . It describes how the old man looked. I liked it because the old man was undefeated in his battles at sea. He, from what they said was cheerful. He must have been happy with how things were going. He talked about his features. Which was everything looked old exept his eyes. It says later in the book he drank shark liver oil. And that helped the eyes. So maybe thats why his eyes looked so young.

V-E-T

September 10, 2007

I read a story where people climbed a mountain in kenya.  This part of the story is the V. A dozen other pilgrims have made it, and we watch in silence while the dawn spreads across the horizon. As the needle point of flame builds, I can see the curvature of the Earth. It gives what they feel like. What they might be thinking. What it looked like. This part is my E. To stand in the face of something so much greater than yourself is to reaffirm your position in the world. Looking out from Lenana, I understand Benuzzi when he wrote that the experience had given the escapees “an inexhaustible store of beauty, on which [they] could draw during the years behind the barbed wire.” It gives details about how the mountain looks. What it would be like there. How it makes you feel. How you feel so small compared to this giant mountain. And this is my T. Two hundred miles (322 kilometers) to the south, the snow-covered massif of Kilimanjaro breaches a sea of clouds like a white whale. It gives a little detail. I liked this part of the story because it was origional.

First blog

September 6, 2007

A blog is a personal page where you can write your own side of things. I first heard of blogs last year in english 11. I am quite comfortable with computers. Most things I do on the computer is instant message and playing games. Writing isnt my most favorite thing. I just cant get into writing. If I had to write id most likley write about the outdoors. Parents are concerned about computers because petifiles are looking for little boys and girls and they dont want their kids exposed to that. Computers can be dangerous if you give out personal information or talk to people you dont know. My friends mostly use computers for MySpace and instant messaging. I liked using the blogs last year because it was easy to do and you can say what you want.
